Expected Learning Outcomes

Deepening of the history of gender political thought in a synchronic and diachronic perspective

Course Structure

If the teaching is given in a mixed or remote way, the necessary changes may be introduced with respect to what was previously stated, in order to respect the program envisaged and reported in the Syllabus.

Required Prerequisites

Students must be in possession of humanistic and scientific knowledge common to the disciplines imparted at the higher teaching institutes, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the main political processes of ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary history.

1. The breaking of the Western monologue and the thought of sexual difference 2. The alteration of the self: representations of subjectivity in postmodern, postcolonial and queer feminist thought 3. Between nature and technique. Contemporary issues of ethics and bioethics 4. Difficult democracy. Policies of bodies, rights and recognition in the age of globalization and postcolonialism 5. Becoming woman and work 6. Women and political institutions. Some reflections on the history of representation
