Especially in the field of political systems categories, their dynamics, their actors, their processes of interaction with the social actors. By the comparison between two or three political systems, the student will be able to recognize different characteristics and mode of operation of the different kind of democracy.
  • International political institutions
First objective is to give to the student tools for the recognition of democracy origin, with a special reference to those processes that had driven from close oligarchies to contemporary democracies, in the last two centuries. Second objective is to analyze the crisis of contemporary democracy in the framework of the “crisis of modernity” and the general process of globalization. In this sense, the student will be able to understand the main political and social phenomena that characterize our society.
  • Transnational actors
The objective is to give to the student a complete vision of populist movements and parties contesting mistakes of existent power and lacks of democratic systems. In this way the student will be able to recognize politic participation, also in its extreme manifestation.
