Learning Objectives
- Patterns of industrialization and social stratification
Master the essential events of the contemporary history. At the end of the course the student will be able to understand the historical roots of socio-economic and political current reality.
- Political Systems of Mass Society
Master the essential events contemporary history in order to understand the social and political processes of the twentieth century by identifying the different institutional contexts and of the socio-economic issues related to them.
- Geopolitics of International Relations
A better understanding of international issues relevant to the twentieth century in its historical dimension with special attention to the methodology of historical research in close interdisciplinary connection with the other social sciences

- Political Systems of Mass Society
Postwar period and the Rise of Fascism - The Crisis of 1929 - New Deal - Weimar Germany - Nazism – The Fascist regime in Italy; The Age of Totalitarianism – At the beginning of the decolonization process; The Second World War- The Republic in Italy - Golden Age - Welfare state .
- Geopolitics of International Relations
The Cold War - The Process of Decolonization – The Golden Age - The Dètente of International Relations - The crisis of 1973; The question of the Middle East - Collapse of the Soviet system - The European Union.
