Learning Objectives

  • POLICY ANALYSIS APPLIED TO EU
    This section of the course is designed to permit students to understand the European Union Public Policy Process and to be able to conceptualise the EU's policy in terms of policy analysis. It seeks to balance the theoretical and the immediately practical of the European Union Public Policy. It is focused on the analysis of the processes whereby public policies arise and are enacted in the European Union. It compares theories and models of policymaking and decision-making to illustrate the special requirements of the EU environment

  • POLICY PROCESSES IN THE EU
    This module aims at analysing the EU policy process in terms of policy cycle. It examines the roles of various participants in the policy process: legislators, political parties, interest groups, administrators and administrative structures, citizens and the judiciary.
  • EUROPEAN FOREIGN POLICY
    The course makes the student able to deal with the EU foreign policy-making process and issues
  • EUROPEAN SECURITY AND DEFENCE POLICY
    The course makes the student able to deal with the EU security policy-making process and issues
