Political geography is a varied, critical and dynamic field of study that takes shape at the crossroads of political discourse on the forms and practices of power, and of geography, understood as the study of space and the processes that incessantly transform it. From the analysis of state territoriality to the geographies of empire, from the study of electoral phenomena to policies for environmental protection, from the microgeographies of local identity to the complex mechanisms of global governance, Introduction to political geography offers tools for understanding and interpreting the power relations, conflicts and gaps that characterize the contemporary world.
