Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims to enable students to deepen their knowledge of the European Union legal system, with specific reference to its institutions, relations with member states, and, even more importantly, the reasons behind the creation of this international organization.

Course Structure

Frontal lessons based on progressive interaction with students

Required Prerequisites

Knowledge of basic notions of public and private law is desirable.

Attendance of Lessons

Attending classes is recommended, as it allows you to better and more quickly acquire knowledge of the subject matter and also acquire the correct approach to it.

Detailed Course Content

The birth of the EU - The institutions and sources of EU law, European citizenship, the functions of the Court of Justice, the legislative procedure.

Learning Assessment Procedures

Oral exam, assessed based on the following criteria:

a. relevance and completeness of answers;

b. ability to correctly frame and resolve legal problems;

c. ability to connect with other topics in the Module's curriculum;

d. appropriate use of legal terminology.
