Detailed Course Content

  • IL METODO E LA RICERCA SOCIALE

Considering the importance of the method in empirical research, it concerns the most important epistemological differences between standard and non-standard approaches. It explores the different types of research design using a 'quantitative' or a 'qualitative' approach. The aim of the module is to outline the areas and the phases of the social research, quantitatively and qualitatively, highlighting the specific nature and the different levels of formalization and structuring of the design.

  • LA RICERCA STANDARD

The course provides the setting of a quantitative research with attention to the process of operational definition of concepts, i.e. the transformation of concepts into variables, to the indicators definition and to the indices construction according to the different analysis units and to the reference social contexts. The module treats the main statistical techniques for data analysis, to make the student able to do the most suitable choice according with the used type of property/variable.
