CONCEPT
The EUMedEA Crash Course “Managing Crises at the EU Med Borders” is an advanced study and training course run by leading scholars, civil society organizations’ representatives and practitioners. It seeks to favour mutual exchange between academics, practitioners and students. More specifically, the purpose of the EUMedEA Crash Course is threefold:

First, it aims to provide participants with an intensive teaching. For this purpose, invited international academics deliver frontal lectures on key selected topics. This year the teaching staff is composed by Fulvio Attinà (University of Catania), Caterina Carta (Vesalius College/Laval University), Sarah Leonard (Vesalius College), Polly Pallister-Wilkins (University of Amsterdam).
Second, it aims to support young researchers. PhD students are invited to present their ongoing research projects. MA Students in the writing-up process of their thesis, may also be accepted for presentation on a voluntary basis.
Third, it aims to deliver training sessions run by practitioners who share their cooperation experiences. The purpose is to focus on the practice of crisis management and to understand how NGO and CSO act on the ground to manage crises.

PARTICIPANTS
The EUMedEA Crash Course participants are aware that the global job market requires experts who are able to face newly emerging challenges and crises and  are eager to work in an international                environment (located in the Mediterranean) with peers, NGO and CSO representatives. Potential participants are:
