Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide the students with the fundamental coordinates in the vast panorama of juridical comparison, with particular reference to Comparative Administrative Law. 

Course Structure

Traditional teaching, with lectures; workshops, organized with attending students.

Required Prerequisites

A basic knowledge of the Italian legal system is desirable. In any case, in order to facilitate the understanding and study of the subject matter, the founding elements of the Italian legal system will be illustrated, together with EU and international legal systems; then, the main institutions of public law will be compared.


Attendance of Lessons

Attendance of the lessons is not compulsory, but it is strongly recommended.

Detailed Course Content

As an introduction, the problem of the method of legal comparison will be addressed. Then, some aspects relating to the organization of public powers will be analyze in a comparative key, highlighting some problematic aspects posed by the trend towards legal globalization.

Specific attention will be devoted to the main issues and problems of organization and administrative action, comparing the different approaches to administrative law in "civil law" and "common law" systems.
