Female students and students will acquire an interpretative framework of themes such as "social justice" in the practice of social work. In particular, they will develop critical skills concerning the processes of individualising social problems and using assessment tools aimed at categorising and correcting users.
Course Structure
Frontal lessons. Attendance of lessons is not compulsory.
Required Prerequisites
Students should have already taken General Sociology.
Detailed Course Content
The course aims to investigate the processes of construction, definition and treatment of discomfort and deviance by control agencies and social operators. In particular, using the theoretical perspective of critical social work, we will focus on why it is essential to reflect on social control and power in social work.
