Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: Daniela FISICHELLAExpected Learning Outcomes
The purpose is to strenghten students' skills regarding prominent global issues within contemporary international community which, for it, needs possible shared solutions. Learning outcomes are achieved by students' ability to understand critical issues of the 21st century and to establish the right logical and legal connections among them, thus suggesting suitable interventions.
Course Structure
Oral assessment of knowledge of topics as included in the study program.
Required Prerequisites
A knowledge of international institutional law, though not detailed, is helpful.
Attendance of Lessons
Lessons attendance is not mandatory, but it's strongly recommended.
Detailed Course Content
The course aims to provide an extensive knowledge of international law as it is being formed and applied in the current century, which is marked by globalized relations that are now largely consolidated, but nonetheless characterized by unfolding dynamics. Truly contemporary international law clearly departs from that which emerged after 1945, yet retains its fundamental framework. The course aims to go through this process of growth which, over eighty years, has produced an international legal order that is greatly remarkable, though not flawless.
