+++ Coronavirus Emergency +++

01 sept 2021 - Covid-19 updates: information for incoming  students, professors  and staff

Effective September 1th all incoming students, teachers and staff are requested to provide the COVID-19 Green Pass in order to access all the University’s buildings, in accordance with the national  law degree n.111, issued on 6th August, 2021. Moreover, we would inform incoming students, teachers and staff that effective August 6, 2021, the “Digital Green Certificate/Green Pass” is necessary to access some locations and participate in certain social activities such as: indoor seated dining at restaurants and bars, museums, exhibitions, cultural sites, sporting events, swimming pools, gyms, concerts, fairs, conferences, amusement parks and other venues.
Certificates issued by the health authorities of the United States, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (including Gibraltar and the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and British bases on the island of Cyprus) and San Marino are equivalent to those of the European Union for access  to University, activities and services on the Italian territory such as indoor restaurants, museums and cinemas. For those who have not any vaccination, it is possible to get vaccinated in Catania vaccination hubs. For those who have not the European green Pass  the European Commission and the Italian government are looking for some solutions. Meanwhile, they will not be allowed to enter the University. Regarding students, they will be able to follow their first semester classes online, since the University has deliberated to provide all first semester lessons through a synchronized online-face to face modality.

at DSPS can choose any course within any BA (st level - UG) and/or MA (2 level - PG).programme offered within the department. Be aware that you cannot select modules worth 3 ects/CFU nor can you select part of a course (6 ECTS/CFU out of 9 for a full course): you can only select a FULL course (6 or 9 or 12 ects/CFU)
Remember the main rules to be followed: "The maximum ECTS credits for the entire academic year is 60, for one semester is 30 and for a term is 15. The minimum ECTS credits to be accepted in Catania is 9. A learning agreement must include at least 70% of courses given within the destination Department and maximum 30% of courses given in other Departments, if previously agreed among Departments." A minimum 60% rate of classes attendance is required, in order to be admitted to exams. Be aware that if you select course offered within MA GLOPEM, the attendance rate is 70%. It is necessary to register students attendance to all classes indicated in their Learning Agreement. Professors will regularly register the date and classes hours attended on the Class attendance registration . At exam sessions, professors will check if the minimum 60% of classes attendance has been provided (70% for GLOPEM courses) and, if so, will allow the student to take the exam. If not, the student will not be allowed to take the exam.
