Understand how to identify the geographical field of study. Understand how to present the key concepts of space, place, territory, environment, networks and scale.
Study and discuss the relationship between geography and the representation of space. Understand that concepts are not unambiguous; being aware of the partiality of terms such as 'nature', 'actor', or 'nation' enables complex interpretations of social phenomena to be developed.
Identify and discuss the disciplinary field and investigative tools of economic geography. Explain the 'political' nature of geography and the investigative scope of political-economic geography.
Course Structure
A series of lectures will be held, after which working groups will be formed to explore the topics in greater depth through theoretical and practical activities.
