Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide students with concepts and methodological tools useful for acquiring greater critical skills in interpreting legal phenomena and the relationship between law and society, legal norms and social facts, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence.

Course Structure

The course will be divided into two parts. The first part will cover the main concepts of the sociology of law, guiding students toward an understanding of legal phenomena from a sociological perspective. The second part will address the proceduralization of decision-making processes, investigating the use of artificial intelligence in administrative and governmental action.

Required Prerequisites

It is advisable that students have already taken some sociology exams. 

Attendance of Lessons

The lessons are designed to encourage interaction with students through case studies and workshops.

Detailed Course Content

The course aims to explore the relationship between law and new technologies, analyzing the compatibility of digital innovation with decision-making and proceedings. The objective is to highlight the problems that digitization poses in the construction of social powers and their institutionalization, and the leading role that legal culture plays in this process.

The exam will be assessed based on knowledge of the theories, concepts, and issues studied, as well as on the ability to critically analyze and connect the concepts learned.
