Expected Learning Outcomes

You will gain an in-depth understanding of contemporary world politics. The current transition of political authority in world order is analysed using concepts from Political Science and Complex Systems Theory. The interactive nature of the course will enhance students' skills for careers in government, business organisations, consulting firms, research centres, and the media

Course Structure

The course is divided into eight sessions. Each session comprises the Friday lecture and the following Thursday seminar. In between, the student prepares a commentary (homework) on the session topic in the form of some ppt slides and emails the file to the lecturer by Tuesday.

Learning Assessment Procedures

Students who comply with the GLOPEM rule of not missing more than 12 hours of compulsory attendance will receive a final grade based on active participation in class and homework. Only students who decline the final grade based on their overall performance in the course will be given an oral examination on the textbook
