FILOSOFIA POLITICA MULTICULTURALE

The aim of the course is to foster the ability to analyze problems related to the philosophical-political perspective by focusing attention on the theoretical approaches inherent to multiculturalism.

The course aims to combine, in the light of a comparative and multicultural approach, the central themes in the context of philosophical-political reflection with an in-depth analysis of all those politically controversial issues inherent in the construction and sharing of public space. From this point of view, the speculative interest will be directed to the description and discussion of the so-called "hard cases", that is, of all those issues that constitute a decisive test bench for the institutions both for what concerns the political dimension and for what concerns the relationship between culturally different conceptions and versions of the world, but not necessarily opposed or irreconcilable: social inclusion, gender, religion, citizenship, differentiated group rights, etc., constitute just some of the possible traces that the course aims to follow and analyze. The aim is to contribute to the diffusion of an open philosophical-political reflection addressed with sincere interest to the debate and to the proposals developed in different and distant geographical and cultural contexts.
Within this perspective, the structure of the course will follow, quite consequently, the dynamic nature of the topics addressed from time to time. The lessons will alternate with a classical methodology, of general introduction to the problem, a dynamic and seminar approach that will allow to broaden the perspective focus and to fruitfully involve the attending students.
